With over 50 years of tradition, HMT has been consistently supplying Divided Wall Column (DWC) within the chemical industry, contributing to energy savings.
The design of HMT's DWC features a vertical wall within the column shell, effectively separating the feeding and draw-off sections.
This gas tight and liquid tight division allows for energy efficient separation, acting as a pre-fractionator for light and heavy boiling products in the feeding section (or pre section),
while the draw off section (or main section) is dedicated to mid boiling products purification.
The thermal and mechanical integration of the DWC streamlines distillation, enabling a single vessel to achieve the separation of three products,
a significant advancement over traditional two-vessel requirements.
This innovative approach not only reduces both investment and operating costs by a minimum of 25%,
but also establishes DWC as a sustainable and cost effective solution in the realm of distillation technology.
